How to Search the Barrow County Court Docket
Begin with the Barrow clerk website and pick Case Search from the current menu. Criminal searching is free, the county says, though printing asks for an account. One caution: on August 17, 2026 the direct legacy endpoint was looping. Do not trust an old bookmark. Load the home page first. There is a second official route for Barrow Superior cases. Georgia Courts' E-Access directory points them to PeachCourt, which also requires an account. The other courts' coverage varies. A PeachCourt miss does not prove a case is absent.
Before you start a docket search, gather the basics. Have the issuing court ready. Bring the exact case number if you know it, plus the party name as filed. Include a rough filing or violation date. Then work through these steps in order:
- Identify the originating court from the citation, notice, pleading, or case type.
- Try the clerk's Case Search through its home page, using the exact case number when available.
- For Barrow Superior matters, check the Georgia E-Access route to PeachCourt.
- Read the case summary separately from any linked document image, and find the newest setting or order.
- If coverage is unclear or the site fails, call or visit the correct clerk and ask for the case history.
- Request named document copies or certification after confirming titles, dates, page counts, and fees.
Barrow Has Five Docket Counters
The county's own court-system overview lays out each court, and it shows why the court name matters nearly as much as the party name on a Barrow County court docket.

Most of the trial-court offices share one address: 652 Barrow Park Drive in Winder. The counters are separate. Suite B houses the Clerk of Superior, State and Juvenile Courts. Probate sits in Suite D, State Court in Suite E, and Magistrate in Suite F. The Solicitor-General occupies Suite J. Route a felony request to the Superior clerk. A Magistrate claim belongs with its own office. So does a Probate estate file. City police citations normally stay with the municipal court that issued them.
| Court | Barrow docket role | Starting channel |
|---|---|---|
| Superior Court | Felonies, general civil, divorce, equity, and land-title matters | Clerk search, PeachCourt, or Suite B |
| State Court | Misdemeanors, county traffic, civil matters, and municipal jury demands | Clerk, traffic portal, or Suite B/E |
| Magistrate Court | Claims through $15,000, dispossessory, warrants, and preliminary events | Magistrate clerk in Suite F |
| Probate Court | Estates, wills, guardianships, and conservatorships | Probate clerk in Suite D |
| Municipal courts | City traffic and ordinance cases | The court named on the citation |
What a Court Docket Shows
A Barrow County court docket is an index of recorded activity. It is not automatically the whole file. The header names the case, the court, and the filing date. It also lists the style and the status. Party and attorney fields show who appears and in what role. Entries run in date order. Each one may mention a complaint, accusation, indictment, service, answer, motion, order, notice, hearing, plea, disposition, judgment, sentence, or appeal. What financial detail or document links you get depends on the system and your access level. Treat generic abbreviation lists as guides rather than verified portal codes.
| Case number | The court-assigned identifier; confirm the exact local format in a live result. |
|---|---|
| Style and parties | The formal caption plus plaintiff, defendant, petitioner, respondent, or State roles. |
| Chronology | Dated entries showing what the clerk accepted or what the court recorded. |
| Settings | Notices and calendar events; the newest valid entry controls over an older reset date. |
| Disposition | The outcome of each charge or claim, which may differ within one case. |
| Documents | Filed images may require separate access, payment, or a clerk request. |
PeachCourt Covers Only Part of Barrow
Georgia's E-Access directory points Barrow Superior Court users to PeachCourt. The PeachCourt access screen offers email and password fields, registration, and password recovery.

That route helps with Superior matters. PeachCourt is not a full Barrow County court docket warehouse. State Court and Magistrate are not listed among Barrow's E-Access courts. PeachCourt also serves as the mandatory civil e-filing provider for Barrow Superior. Criminal and State Court filings run through EZ-Filing. Keep four functions straight. These are e-filing access, public case lookup, courthouse viewing, and certified-copy service. A filer login never proves that every document image is open to anonymous public view.
Which Courts Keep Dockets
The originating court controls the first file. Superior Court holds the felony prosecution docket. An early warrant, bond, or preliminary hearing may have happened in Magistrate Court. State Court keeps county misdemeanor and unincorporated traffic matters. Magistrate keeps its own small civil cases. It also holds the listed preliminary criminal functions. Probate retains estate and guardianship files. The unified clerk maintains Juvenile records, though those commonly stay confidential. Municipal courts keep their city citations. A procedure such as a jury demand can send the matter to State Court.
Case type gives you the fastest routing test. A divorce, equity claim, land-title action, or felony points to Barrow Superior Court. A county misdemeanor or an unincorporated traffic charge points to State Court. A civil claim at or below $15,000, a dispossessory, an abandoned-vehicle issue, a garnishment, or a warrant-stage event may belong in Magistrate. Wills and estates sit in Probate. Adult or minor guardianships sit there too. A city police ticket starts in municipal court. Searching only one system can miss a valid Barrow County docket that another office holds.
Appeals add a new layer rather than rewriting the trial docket. The Barrow clerk transmits eligible matters to the Court of Appeals of Georgia or the Supreme Court of Georgia. A distinct appellate case number begins there. A Barrow dispute reaches the Northern District of Georgia only when federal jurisdiction exists. A local event alone does not place a state case in PACER.
Historic and Judicial Courthouses Differ
The county's official clerk profile names the office that files and maintains Barrow County court records, criminal and civil alike.

The working record counters sit at 652 Barrow Park Drive, Winder, GA 30680, not at the Historic Courthouse on 30 North Broad Street. The Clerk of Superior, State and Juvenile Courts fills Suite B. Counter hours run Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The main number is 770-307-3035. The fax is 770-867-4800. Note the earlier closings. Magistrate shuts at 4:00 p.m., and Probate at 4:30 p.m. Call before you travel. Ask whether the file is onsite and whether retrieval is needed. Ask whether certification can be finished in the same visit.
Finding Court Dates and Settings
Read the newest setting first. That date, not an older one, controls. A continuance or reset leaves earlier dates sitting in the case history, so an old entry can point to a hearing that already moved. The clerk website lists Court Calendars, but its endpoint has returned an ODBC driver architecture error (August 17, 2026). A dated failure is not a missing calendar. Retry through the clerk home page. Courthouse postings and a public terminal are the next stop, and the scheduling office can confirm the live setting before you rely on it.
Barrow also publishes a precise routing rule for callers. Felony date questions go to the District Attorney, while misdemeanor questions go to the Solicitor-General. Filing procedure and judge assignment questions go to the assigned judge's secretary. Emergency judicial orders can shift deadlines and settings too. The full Barrow County court calendar walkthrough explains the fallback sequence and setting terms in more depth.
Barrow Cases Follow Surname Assignments
A Barrow County Superior case is routed by the defendant's surname. Four Piedmont judges divide the alphabet. Judge Andrew Crawford takes A, G, O, S, and W, while Judge Ben Green takes C, J, L, N, P, V, and Z. Judge Sarah Griffie takes D, E, F, I, M, R, and U, and Chief Judge Nicholas Primm takes B, H, K, Q, T, X, and Y. With multiple defendants, the surname nearest the start of the alphabet controls. The rule is only a shortcut. It helps a caller guess the likely chambers. The filed assignment or clerk confirmation remains authoritative. The Piedmont Judicial Circuit site posts current judge and circuit information, so check it before acting on the alphabet.

Circuit calendars are helpful context, but they change. A master calendar never replaces the latest case notice or a direct call to confirm the setting on a Barrow County court docket.
Public Access to Dockets
Georgia opens its court files to the public. Public access does not mean every page shows up online, though. Juvenile, adoption, sealed, and protected-identifier material may be limited by statute or court order. A blank result means little. It can reflect the wrong court, a spelling slip, older offline storage, thin portal coverage, or a technical failure, so never treat it as proof that a case never existed or was restricted.
Key rules:
Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 starts from public court records and requires specific findings for limits on access.
O.C.G.A. ยง50-18-71 governs county open-record requests, while court-document requests go directly to the clerk custodian.
Model Rule 36.16(G) gives e-filed records the same effect and access status as traditional filings, subject to lawful restrictions.
Docket, Document, or Certified Copy
Three layers, three purposes. The docket or case history is the chronological index, and it is often the quickest free start. A filed document is the real thing: the complaint, motion, order, judgment, or other item an entry names. Its image may never appear online. A certified copy is a clerk-attested reproduction for when authenticity matters. Barrow's published civil rate is $2.50 for the first certified page and $0.50 for each additional page. The clerk posts no plain-copy, exemplification, or remote-image price.
Ask for the history first. Note the entry title and date. Then ask whether the related image is available remotely. If it is not, tell the clerk whether you need a plain or certified copy and how it should be delivered. Transcripts are a different product. Court reporters prepare them, and no docket entry set can rebuild a word-for-word record. Exhibits, sealed portions, adoption material, and juvenile content may require authorization or an order. The clerk publishes no general mail-order rule, archive procedure, reporter price list, or exemplification rate. Ask directly about those.
- Docket history
- Use it to locate the exact entry title and date.
- Filed image
- Ask whether it is available remotely or only through the custodian.
- Certified copy
- Confirm page count, certification charge, payment method, delivery, and turnaround before paying.
The Clerk and Docket Records
Janie J. Jones is the elected Clerk of Superior, State and Juvenile Courts. The office files and maintains criminal and civil cases. It also keeps warrants, manages juries and financial records, sends criminal information to GCIC, DDS, and DOR, and transmits appeals. Magistrate and Probate keep their own files. Each municipal court handles its own city matters.
Access is not one database. You can use the local Case Search, E-Access to PeachCourt for Superior matters, a courthouse public terminal, or the Suite B counter. Phone, fax, and email to jjjones@barrowga.org work too for court-document requests. The clerk posts no mail procedures. Confirm directly, since the general county route may not apply.

Free Search Is Not Free Certification
The local criminal search is free to run. Printing, though, prompts you to create an account. PeachCourt requires an account as well. None of that tells you what a certified copy costs or whether a document image is free. The county's general open-record rate of ten cents per page and its staff-time rules cover general-government requests, so do not swap them for actual court-copy charges. The county open-record page shows that court files go to the elected clerk rather than the general JustFOIA queues.

Ask for the history, then name the entries. That keeps the quote tied to actual pages and stops a search result from passing as an authenticated file.
Court Dockets by City in Barrow County
Municipal cases start with the city that issued the citation, so a Barrow County docket search for a ticket begins with the city named on it. Always read the issuing agency and court before assuming anything. The five profiles follow whole-place 2020 Census rankings. Auburn and Braselton span county lines. Their totals are not Barrow-only. Winder offers a citation portal, Auburn and Statham publish payment and clerk channels, Braselton uses a payment vendor, and Bethlehem posts no current municipal-court channel.
Winder Court Docket
18,338 residents. Municipal records, Friday sessions, and a citation search.
Braselton Court Docket
13,403 residents townwide. Confirm the violation county and court.
Auburn Court Docket
7,495 residents townwide. Municipal clerk and JusticeONE channels.
Statham Court Docket
2,813 residents. Separate office and hearing locations.
Bethlehem Court Docket
715 residents. Start with the Town Clerk and issuing agency.
When Barrow Results Go Missing
A blank result on a Barrow County docket search is not the end of the road. Check the court and the name spelling first. Then retry with the exact case number. If that fails, start from the clerk's home page instead of the dead direct link. Use Georgia E-Access for Superior Court matters. Still nothing? Pick up the phone. Call 770-307-3035 for Superior, State, or Juvenile records; 770-307-3050 for Magistrate; 770-307-3045 for Probate. A city ticket belongs to the municipal court that issued it. Ask the clerk about in-person inspection or the courthouse public terminal when online coverage runs thin. The court or clerk alone can explain a sealed or restricted file.
Searching by name takes patience. Use the spelling on the filed paperwork. Test a few reasonable variants too. Never assume a common name is the right person. An older Barrow County case may sit in offline storage. A fresh filing may not have hit the portal yet, and some systems cover only one class of court. Restrictions exist, but they are not the usual answer. Georgia record restriction can seal qualifying arrest-history information without wiping every court filing from view. When you need certainty, order the official case history by number. Let the clerk walk you through what is public.
Map and Directions to the Barrow County Judicial Courthouse
Superior, State, and Juvenile Court files are kept at the working judicial complex, 652 Barrow Park Drive in Winder, where the Clerk of Superior Court's counter is Suite B. This is a different building from the county's Historic Courthouse at 30 North Broad Street, which remains the general-government address but is not where trial-court records are kept. State Court, Magistrate, and the Solicitor-General's office share the Barrow Park Drive complex in their own suites, so identify the right suite before arriving.
